First Aid & CPR on the Jobsite: Why Every Construction Team Should Be Prepared

published on 02 September 2026

Construction is an industry where safety must be a priority. With heavy equipment, power tools and changing conditions on the jobsite, accidents and medical emergencies can happen even when proper safety procedures are in place.

First Aid and CPR training gives construction professionals the knowledge and confidence to respond quickly when an emergency occurs.

Why First Aid Matters on the Jobsite

In an emergency, the first few minutes can be critical. Having trained workers on-site means someone is prepared to provide immediate assistance while professional medical help is on the way.

First Aid training helps workers respond to common workplace injuries and emergencies, while CPR training provides essential skills for responding to life-threatening situations.

BCA First Aid & CPR Training

The Bahamian Contractors’ Association is continuing its commitment to education, training and higher industry standards by offering jobsite-oriented First Aid & CPR training for contractors, project managers, supervisors, construction professionals and aspiring industry leaders. This is a focused four-hour certification course designed around construction environments.

The upcoming training will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Epiphany Hall, Prince Charles Drive.

  • Session 1: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Session 2: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM

The course provides an opportunity for construction professionals to strengthen their emergency-response skills and earn First Aid & CPR certification. The certification is valid for two years.

Make Safety Part of the Culture

A strong safety culture is built through preparation, education and consistent attention to the people working on-site.

While no training can prevent every accident, having workers who know how to respond when an emergency occurs can help create a safer and more prepared workplace.

Learn. Respond. Save Lives.

If you're a contractor, supervisor, project manager or construction professional looking to strengthen your team's safety preparedness, consider taking part in the upcoming BCA First Aid & CPR training.
